PRICE ON REQUEST
Description
A set of 4 dining chairs, model 124, designed by Helena and Jerzy Kurmanowicz, manufactured at Radomszczańskie Zakłady Przemysłu Drzewnego in the 1950s.
In 1959, this design won first prize in a competition organised by PAGED (Polish Wood Export Agency).
The dining chairs known as “hearts” comes from the heart-shaped backrest, crafted from bent plywood.
Notably, the craftsmanship of model 124 showcases consistent use of bending techniques.
Each wooden component of the chair, including the wooden ring supporting the seat, is made from a single bent piece.
The legs are also bent, contributing to the cohesive aesthetic of the “hearts” design.
The seats and backrests are upholstered in soft white fabric.
While the chairs come from a single set, the manufacturing process gives each piece slight variations in leg width or bend curvature, adding a unique character to each chair.
